Motion compensation prediction based on adaptive triangular patches

Abstract

This paper proposes a new motion compensation prediction method which selectively uses block matching and warping methods for adaptive triangular patches. The experimental results show that the technique can produce efficient prediction images with a low bit amount of side information for image sequences comprising non-translational motions.
