Lossless Coding of Video Signals Based on Example Search and Probability Model Optimization

Abstract

We previously proposed a lossless video coding method which directly estimates a probability distribution of image intensity values pel-by-pel based on inter-frame example search. In this paper, we introduce an optimization technique into the estimation process to reduce the resulting coding rates.
