Abstract
The pyroelectric vidicon is an infrared sensitive camera tube which has a pyroelectric target that is electronically scanned for infrared thermal imaging. The target operates at ambient temperature and does not need any cooling system.
Some problems, for example signal to noise ratio, flicker, thermal diffusion, on pyroelectric vidicon applications are explored. Several signal processing for advancement of pyroelectric vidicon are described.
