Abstract
A new signal-processing system has been established, which gives high performance to the all solid-state color video camera with an MOS imager. Also, related large scale integrated circuits have been successfully developed.
The integrated integrating circuit suppresses fixed pattern noise down to one tenth. The skillfully-designed AGC system and γ-correction system, both integrated on a color-process chip, also reduce-the noise. Complementary color filters used on the imager, double the signal picked up. All the above factors contribute to the excellent signal-to-noise ratio for the camera. The color reproduction error caused by γ-correction and color-temperature correction was reviewed. It has been found that a GRB-γ correcting system is able to remove color reproduction error.
By using these techniques and ICs, an all solid-state color camera has been successfully developed and put on the consumer market.
