Abstract
A simple flat TV display was developed. It consists of a line thermionic cathode, two electrostatic vertical deflecting electrodes, a phosphor screen, and a strip-form modulation electrode array. This array is used for horizontal addressing. The deflecting electrodes deflect and focus the sheet beam vertically. A theoretical deflection analysis is presented. The experimental results agree well with the theoretical analysis and the computer simulation.
