Abstract
A practical millimeter-wave video transmission system using the 60-GHz band has been demonstrated for indoor broadcast-satellite (BS) signal transmission. It uses a new millimeter-wave self-heterodyne transmission technique, and the transmission power distribution inherent in the technique is optimized. Testing showed that all BS video channels, including digital channels, can be transmitted without any disturbance of the oscillator frequency offset or any phase-noise effect over 10m under the condition that an additional 12-dB penetration loss occurs.
