Abstract
PDPs need a recovery sustain circuit in order to change energy in a panel's capacitance with low power. This paper describes the novel recovery sustain circuit with a high recovery rate. The circuit has two coils, which are connected in series and parallel in every charging point. The electric loss is decreased by the sustain pulse with two raising slopes. The authors investigate the influences on the characteristics of a dischange in the AC-PDP with the novel recovery sustain circult. As the result, an electric loss due to the panel's capacitance is reduced to 63% compared with a conventional circuit. Moreover, the number of circuit components is reduced to half in the case of a constant electric loss.
