Abstract
With the progress of personal computer in recent years, the requirement for high resolution and high brightness is getting stronger to of CDT (Color Display Tube) design. The invar mask is applied in the high resolution CDT to suppress PD (purity drift) generated by thermal expansion of the shadow mask under the operating condition, resultantly color purity is well maintained. However, when invar mask is applied, another type of PD occurs due to the difference of thermal expansion coefficient between glass panel/frame and invar mask. We have developed a 41cm color display tube improved color-purity based on the structural analysis of a mask frame and a holder.
