Abstract

In virtual environment with the HMD and the headphone, we estimated the head movement induced by as follows. (Ex. 1 : An audio-visual stimulus which rotates around the head. Ex. 2 : A visually rocking stimulus.) A 3D sound was processed by Convolvotron, and head movement was measured by OPTOTRAK. As a result, it has arisen the head movement correspondent to the revolving frequency (Ex. 1) and rocking frequency (Ex. 2) of stimulation. The head has moved remarkably, when both stimuli are synchronous (Ex. 1). It is supposed that this method is effective for quantitative estimation of reality.
