Abstract

Faster selection of KANA letters in a selection table is essential for efficient operation of scanning type of communication aids for the severely physically disabled. Most of commercially available communication aids employ traditional KANA tables for selection. It is clear from previous research that a KANA tables of frequency order, obtained from news papers and other non special documents, decrease the number of steps in operation. In this paper, another frequency orders are obtained from the documents written by the severely physically disabled. it is stated that the new frequency orders will decrease the steps of operation more than the frequency order from the normal documents.
