Abstract

We have developed a simulation system to evaluate the performance of various PRML systems. The error rates of PR (1,0,-1) ML, PR (1,1,-1,-1) ML, PR (1,1,0,-1,-1) ML, and PR (1,2,0,-2,-1) ML systems for (1,7) RLL code are obtained by our simulation system, and performances are compared. The results show that PR (1,1,-1,-1) ML system exhibits good performance.
