Abstract
A piggyback actuator system is a reading candidate for a 1 [micrometer] track pitch magnetic head servo system. Such critical servo system which require severe constraints on the dynamic response will demand a theory for system design, integrating structure design with controller design. However, Integrated design is a well developed method to maintain it. It is not easy to solve the optimization problem of it. Recently. We proposed a new parameterization for the problem that was realized as descriptor system. The proposed parameterization reduces linear parameters of mechanical system into a static controller. Then, A designer is able to evaluate how each parameter of structure contributes to the system performance while optimizing it. The simultaneous optimization of mechanical and control parameters results in the usual problem with a generalized plant and two controllers. In this paper, We discussed how to apply the integrated design method to a piggyback actuator system.
