Abstract
We have developed an optical video disk recorder using a φ 120mm phase-change disk. We have attained 4.1GB storage data capacity on one side disk, and 27.3Mbps video net bit rate. Bit length of 0.32μm, land-groove recording (0.6μm track width), and (1,7) RLL code and PRML have been adopted, therefore 3.3Gbit/inch^2 of the recording density has been achieved. In such high density and high bit rate recorder, low vibration performance of the spindlemotor is requisite. Then we have analized vibration mode on the disk-machine, and improved the vibration characteristics. Then high quality optical video disk recorder has been attained.
