Abstract
In this paper, we describe a new video browsing method for the World Wide Web and our experience in applying the method to an education system for elevator maintenance engineers. This video browsing method features : (1) automatic scene-change detection and visual editing function for defining video structure, and (2) automatic generation of tree-structured HTML catalogs based on the defined video structure. Effectiveness of the method was confirmed in the education system for the elevator maintenance engineers.
