Abstract
For obtaining the information of snow depth from the data observed by the SAR mounted on JERS-1,a simulation for the typical snowpack parameters and an analysis of the phase data which should be measured by the SAR interferometory were carried out. The results of analysis show that the Interferometric SAR (INSAR), using L-band SAR of JERS-1,is effective for measuring snow depth and the spatial distribution of snow depth is possible to be expressed by the interference fringes as a visual information.
