Abstract
An image compression method for images from a single imager color video camera has been developed. This method (Virtual Color Separation : VCS) combines traditional color separation and frequency transformation. It produces exellent quality video images with reduced chrominance moire and high resolution. An effective application of VCS method is explained, and images reproduced by VCS form a color imager with normal complimentary filter are evaluated.
