Abstract
A type of 3D camera was proposed and the performances were evaluated. The camera adds the depth information to each pixel of an ordinary two dimensional television image. The camera uses a combination of a high-speed shutter with intensity modulated illuminator. As a result of experiments, it was verified that the depth information was obtained independent of the reflectivities or the shape of the objects. The results of experiments using several kinds of targets suggest a possibility developing this to a 3D TV camera.
