Development of MD System using Integrated Optical Pickup

Abstract

We have developed the integrated optical pickup for MD (Mini-Disc). Excellent reliability and high mass-productivity are achieved by integrating all optical components into small package. For the make of consistent record and read-back characteristics, one beam Advanced Push-Pull (APP) tracking servo and lens centering method were newly developed.
