Abstract
Recently MPEG-2 Transport Streams (TS) become widely use for digital broadcasting services. For switching programs or inserting advertisement between programs, the MPEG-2 TS 'splicing' technique which is prescribed in MPEG-2 standard will be used in the future. In this report, we examine realization methods of splicing based on MPEG-2 standard and its application. Especially we consider creation methods of TS suited for splicing and operation of splicing device. Furthermore we propose more useful splicing methods.
