Abstract
The world first trial that the High Definition Camcorder was taken aboard on the Space Shuttle was achieved to make success with recording the interior and exterior shuttle images in November 1998. The high definition earth images allow us to feel alluring atmoshpere, which also has more scientific value than ever documented by TV camcorder due to its high resolution. The safety verification and the measurement was required by NASA in order to approve as an on-board equipment. And we had the opportunity to present the astronauts about the camcorder operation. During the mission, the camcorder worked normally in the orbiter. Meanwhile the space radiation might cause the CCD defects tha produces the pixel noise in teh recorded image, but we introduced the pixel noise corrector at the post video processing and immediately restored as a normal image without any defects.
