Abstract
A digital broadcasting satellite will be lanched in 2000. It will be able to broadcast multichannel high-definition television programs and provide high-quality views. It will also provide multimedia data services using multiple objects, such as text, sound, and still images. This lecture will briefly explain the multimedia coding sheme based on XML (eXtensible Markup Language) and related standards in data broadcasting for the digital broadcasting satellite.
