Fine Pitch Shadow Mask Design For DTV Display

Abstract

A new type of color picture tube has been developed with fine pitch and thin shadow mask. The horizontal resolution of the tube is more than 720 pixels with horizontal pitch 0.48mm and vertical pitch 0.68mm at the central point. The thickness of the shadow mask is reduced from 0.22mm to 0.18mm for cost saving. The samples were developed and tested with satisfied results under 720×540 and 800×600 formats. The tube has found its applications on PCTV, MMTV and DTV display and passed the product certification for production on large scale.
