Abstract
It has been recently recognized that some emitter materials applied for cold-cathode fluorescent lamps make the cathode fall voltage lower, thereby leading to a significant reduction of lamp power consumption. Through investigation on such effect of various kinds of emitter materials, we have eventually chosen the alkaline earth metal oxides containing BaO as an appropriate emitter. This presents its stable emitter effect during longer lamp burning hours of 10, 000hrs even at higher lamp current Ila 6mA, as compared with around 3, 000hrs of conventional emitter materials at Ila 4mA.
