Abstract
We developed a simple-structured mercury-free flat fluorescent lamp for LCD backlightings. A flat fluorescent lamps has a couple of electrodes covered with dielectric layer and contains Xe. It is said that a Xe discharge lamp is low-efficiency, low-luminance and unstable. So we optimize its structure, gas composition and etc.obtained 1, 200cd/m^2 used 2.5inch lamp. We found possibility of marcury-free backlighting system.
