Abstract
Higyly realistic surrounding display systems and its applications have been actively developed. A surrounding display system in which a series of multiple or curved surface displays enclose a user within a highly realistic visual space. We have been developing a method to measure "presence" through the use of induced movement. We used observer's body-sway induced by displayed image as index of "presence". The participants observed moving images presented by display systems that had different number of screens. We measured participants 'body-sway when they observed moving images. An ARX model(autoregressive model with exogenous input) was applied to analyze quantitative relation between the movement of image and observer's body-sway. The results showed that images presented by displays that had three or more screens more increased observers' body-sway than images displayed displayed by a single-screen display.
