In this study, we measured the color appearance of red, yellow, green and blue stimuli in the entire visual field using saturation and hue judgments, blackness evaluation, and categorical color naming. The mean results of the categorical responses for 6 observers show that the constancy region for each stimulus where the same color name as used in the fovea is given, extends to the temporal and lower directions in the visual field. The relation between categorical response of white and blackness response was investigated.
