Abstract
Two x-ray pulse generation methods and applications are described; a photo-excitable x-ray tube and femtosecond laser-plasma x-ray source using aqueous solutions of electrolyte. Characteristics of x-ray pulses from the two sources such as pulse width and x-ray emission spectra are described. Applications of the x-ray pulse for material science such as time-resolved x-ray diffraction are also introduced.
