Abstract
We have developed the liquid crystal display (LCD) that applied a scanning black stripe driving method, in order to obtain LCDs that can display motion pictures with high quality. In this driving method, scanning black stripes are inserted in displayed images so that pseudo impulsive emission like that CRTs can be produced. The developed LCD has a good motion picture quality. It was found that the LCD can be obtained sharp images when motion pictures are displayed, because the limit velocity of readability of the developed LCD is twice or above as high as that of the conventional LCD.
