Abstract
The encompassing goal of our research is to propose an universal image model for real images. Based on that image signals can be described by a set of quadratic curved surface units, this paper presents a new image construction method using Laplacian pyramid. The experimental results shows that the signal of each Laplacian plane can be approximated successfully by a set of quadratic curved surface units, and it is clarified that any real image signals are represented by the simple mathematical function.
