An image improvement method for MPEG-2 coded video

Abstract

In recent years, we became possible to viewing and listening to high quality video by digital broadcasting. However, there have a possibility that the blocking artifact is generated in video contents with a high motion. The image distortion by blocking artifact is an important problem which must be examined in digital broadcasting. This paper proposed an image quality improvement method which suppressed the occurrence of flicker and blocking artifact.
