Abstract
We have been investigating a method of objects detection to remove an influence of change of environment light by using a different value between two image values when the modulated light is turned on and off. We propose the wide dynamic range image sensor for objects detection with a high degree of accuracy where the environment light is changing intensely. We get two values from the two capacitors that store charges by synchronizing with the modulated light in each pixel circuit. When the voltage of one capacitor exceeds a threshold voltage, the charges of same amount are removed from two capacitors and then we achieve the wide dynamic range imaging. We describe the pixel circuit of smart image sensor based on proposal method and evaluation results of the prototype chip.
