Abstract
In this paper, we propose a new optical diffusing system for short range high speed optical wireless communication to transmit large size files instantly when a receiver is positioned near a transmitter. A convex lens and a rectangular acrylic rod and diffuser are used for eye safety and to expand the reception area and to receive signals even when the receiver is leaned. The signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) characteristic of the proposed system is evaluated by experiment. The experimental results show that the sufficient received SNR for the high speed data transmission is obtained by the proposed system even when the receiver is positioned at 5cm from the transmitter and is leaned.
