Abstract
Magnetic properties of magnetic garnet film suitable for transfer of signals recorded on magnetic tape with submicron wavelength are not yet clear. We considered a model of transferring of a magnetic pattern of the tape to garnet film in terms of energy of magnetic domain in garnet film. Based on this model, we showed that garnet films having the thickness of around 0.5μm, saturation magnetization of 200〜400G and Faraday coefficient of more than 5×10^4deg./cm are desirable for high density transfer of magnetic tape.
