Abstract
A subjective test to compare the recognized resolution of 2D and 3D image. As the result, the observer perceives the presented high-density directional (HDD) 3D images as having higher resolution than the original resolution of each directional image. This effect occurs even when the image is observed by just a single eye. This effect is considered to be special effect to spatial image reconstruction method, such as HDD 3D display, that can achieve a smooth motion parallax. Consequently, this suggests the possibility of the effects other than other multi-view type 3D imaging methods.
