Abstract
In order to apply a UV curable liquid crystal film to a gate insulator of organic TFTs, we have done electric characterization of MIM devices using the LC film. Experimental results show that sufficient insulating properties of the LC film are obtained with increasing UV exposure dosage during the polymerization processes and hole accumulation in a MIS device using pentacene on a LC film is observed, indicating the usefulness of a UV curable liquid crystal film for organic TFT devices.
