Abstract
The purpose of this study is to realize intuitive PC operation to reduce the gap between the real world and the virtual world using the desktop environment with pictorial supplies and RFID. A preliminary experiment was performed to obtain the suitable combination of supplies corresponding to the actions on PC. Analyzing the result, we develop the desktop environment that the user can start application software by overlaying some pictorial supplies. We also develop the system using RFID that links a printed paper to its file data in PC. A subject experiment is performed to evaluate the proposed system. The result shows that the system satisfies the requirement for UI for novice users.
