Abstract
A super multi-view (SMV) 3D display technique was proposed as a natural 3D display technique to solve the visual fatigue problem caused by the accommodation-vergence conflict. Previously, most measurements of accommodation response to SMV display were carried out on the condition that observer was close to viewpoints. In this study, we measured the accommodation response to SMV display with observer and viewpoints separated using the 128-viewpoints multiple projection SMV display which we had achieved. Especially, we did the experiments for several screen-viewpoints distance conditions because the screen-viewpoints distance can be modified easily on this SMV display. The measured results showed that the accommodation function worked properly in the enhanced range of the depth of field of eyes that was determined by the extent of rays at the observation distance.
