Abstract
This paper focuses on a road-to-vehicle visible light communication (VLC) using a LED traffic light (Transmitter) and an in-vehicle camera (Receiver). In the case of using the camera for VLC, the received image degrades with increasing distance from the transmitter due to reduction of pixel size and defocus of the LED data pattern. In other words, the camera captures a BLURRED image when the communication distance is long. In this study, we assume that the blurred image is caused by an influence of the camera's imaging area and propose a signal detection method for VLC using this influence.
