Abstract
Japanese construction industry has been stagnated in current situation. It has caused a serious crisis of social infrastructure in regions because the regional construction enterprises have been playing a role on disaster prevention and preservation of social infrastructure in regions. This paper describes a regional issue focusing construction industry in South West area of Kochi Prefecture as a typical stagnated region in order to discuss how construction industry can survive in current situation to collaborate with region and regional government by taking account of their specific role and position in regional community.
