Abstract
For the realization of an electronic holography with a wide viewing zone angle, we have advanced development of an ultra-fine magneto-optic spatial light modulator driven by spin transfer switching. This device, we call Spin-SLM, is a novel light modulator with the advantages of both submicron size of pixels and high-speed light modulation. In this report, we designed and fabricated a one-dimensional Spin-SLM composed of an array of 1×10 pixels with a fine pitch of 1 μm, and succeeded in spin transfer switching of the array. In order to indicate a potentiality of three-dimensional (3D) display in the Spin-SLM, a two-dimensional static hologram with a Him pixel-pitch was fabricated and it was recognized that holographic 3D images are reproduced with a wide viewing zone angle.
