A study on area one-seg broadcasting service for higher education

Abstract

The TV white space has been attracted attention for effective use of radio frequency, then several applications using the TV white space are introduced. One of the applications is the area broadcasting service. The service is to broadcast TV program to a limited area without interference with other radio service. Kyushu Sangyo University has started to provide the area one-segment broadcasting service to the campus of the university on September, 2012. In this paper, we introduced the area one-segment broadcasting system of the university and achievement with the service. In addition, the possibilities and effectiveness of introducing the area one-segment service to higher education are discussed.
