Abstract

It is inevitable to maintain healthiness of oral environment for that of the whole body. To observe the condition of gums, a digital dental mirror, which can measure three-dimensional shape, oxygen saturation map, scattering map, glycogen map, and so on from a single compound-eye image, is developed. The dental mirror is based on a 3×3-eye compact compound-eye called TOMBO (thin observation module by bound optics), and is equipped with visible and near-infrared illumination, band-pass, and polarization filters. Three-dimensional shape is measured with the multi-baseline stereo method.
