Abstract
This paper is concerned with the propagation characteristics of electromagnetic (EM) waves propagating along inhomogeneous random rough surfaces (RRSs). Applying a least squares method (LSM) to the 1-ray model, we can estimate modification factor α and propagation order of distance β characterizing the 1-ray model in comparison with the numerical results computed by discrete ray tracing method (DRTM), and thus we can analyze the propagation characteristics along inhomogeneous RRSs. Finally, we show some numerical examples and discuss the efficacy of our proposed method.
