Abstract
TV Asahi has continuously considered techniques of broadcast continuation at times of emergency disasters. When the head studio's function to send out digital programs is lost, transmitting broadcasting materials from affiliated broadcasting stations using SNG was considered to be one of the most effective methods to carry on with continuous broadcast. However, the technique of receiving SNG has been difficult due to strict conditions to set up an antenna on TOKYO SKYTREE[○!R], the master transmitting site in Kanto region. Yet, successfully, a solution to this problem has been found. The solution was to develop FPU/SNG shared reception antenna by extending bandwidth of standing FPU receiving antenna on a master transmitting site. This would enable technique to receive both FPU and SNG with one antenna. TV Asahi is currently working to achieve this, and so far the constructional designs have been completed. They are now at the stage of producing prototype of the antenna.
