Abstract
Spreading to use mobile terminals such as a laptop PC, a tablet and a smart phone, wireless LAN systems are introduced at various places. It is essential to understand indoor radio wave propagation for the efficient operation and appropriately predicting the number and setting places of mobile communication systems including access points of wireless LAN system. Conventionally experiments and measurements have been carried out to predict characteristics of indoor radio wave propagation. On the other hand, numerical simulations can support propagation characterizations in numerous communication environments and lead to many new discoveries related to them. This paper reports the measurement results related to indoor radio wave propagation characteristics such as path loss and propagation channel between the plural floors for the wireless LAN system. The study aims to predicting indoor propagation properties and propagation channels precisely by numerical simulations. To collect fundamental data for developing a numerical model that is effective for computer simulations, properties of path loss between the plural floors are considered in detail.
