Abstract
NHK is conducting research on the next generation terrestrial broadcasting. The proposed specification for the next generation terrestrial broadcasting is incorporated the new signal structure and the latest technologies in order to get spectrum utilization efficiency higher than ISDB-T. Furthermore, the proposed specification has been designed based on segmented OFDM to transmit the signal for both a fixed reception service and a mobile reception service simultaneously in one channel. This system is able to provide mobile reception service by partial reception such as one-segment service of ISDB-T. Moreover, in order to improve the frequency interleaving effect, the partial reception bandwidth is expanded approximately 3.5 times compared to ISDB-T. This paper describes the frequency interleave method suitable for the expanded partial reception and the evaluation for mobile reception performance with several frequency interleave methods by computer simulations.
