Abstract
We tried to decrease the size of the particles of (Ba,Sr)2SiO4:Eu with keeping brightness, which had been known as a candidate of green phosphor for LED. We found that all of raw materials, BaCO3, SrCO3, SiO2, and Eu2O3 having the particles of submicron size provide (Ba,Sr)2SiO4:Eu having relatively equal size of 1-3 μm of primary particles and external quantum efficiency of near 50% at the calcination temperature of 1000℃ about 200℃ lower than conventional calcination temperature. It was clarified that especially, nano-sized Eu2O3 and SiO2 yield large effect for microparticulation with high brightness.
