Abstract
The ability of recognizing dynamic environments is required for autonomous mobile robots. This paper proposes a method to detect changes in surroundings even if a robot do not observe movements of objects. A probabilistic mapping is introduced to estimate whether observed regions are dynamic or static based on distance information.
