Abstract
We observed a photocurrent multiplication phenomenon with very high quantum efficiency of far exceeding unity in a film using crystal selenium as a photosensitive layer at an applied voltage of 5 V. This multiplication phenomenon seems to occur due to injected carriers caused by a large electric field at crystal selenium/metal electrode interface.
