Image Inpainting by Extrapolative Filter

Abstract

We propose a method for inpainting images by an extrapolative filter which outputs at each damaged (or missing) pixel a weighted average of extrapolated pixel values from neighboring undamaged and inpainted pixels. Experimental results show that the proposed method can inpaint damaged regions with smaller blur than conventional methods.
